Wind River Capital Management was founded with the goal of helping families and institutions manage all types of financial matters from a small office in Jackson, Wyoming. WRCM was co-founded by Cody Lockhart and Chad Driewer in July of 2018. Although Wind River Capital Management is new, our history travels all the way back to the early 1980s and the first investment office in Jackson.
Kelly Lockhart joined the A. G. Edwards team in April of 1981. In June of 1982, he opened the Jackson Hole branch along with Broker Phelps H. Swift and Sales Assistant Patti Randall—the first and only stock brokerage firm in town for years to come. Opening the office was quite timely, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average was trading around 800 that year; it increased by 3100% over the next 36 years. As Kelly would often say, “It has been a good run.”
Chad and Cody learned the ropes of the investment world with A.G. Edwards and continued to work alongside Kelly until his retirement at the end of 2016. Since 2007 our office has undergone several acquisitions; A.G. Edwards was bought by Wachovia Securities in 2007, and Wells Fargo & Company announced its purchase of Wachovia in 2008. In 2018, our firm selected the independent Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network channel and became Wind River Capital Management under the leadership of Cody and Chad. We are proud to be the oldest and largest investment practice in Jackson Hole, and look forward to helping individuals and families accomplish their financial goals for generations to come.
